20 jobs created at Blue Insurances

Blue Insurances originally focused on travel insurance but has expanded into other areas such as pet and innovative gadget insurance – and plans to begin offering home and motor insurance by the end of this year.

TWENTY NEW JOBS have been announced at an insurance company based in Blanchardstown in Dublin.

Blue Insurances has begun recruiting for the positions, which it is aimed will be filled within 18 months.

The company has said they are hiring more staff following on from the recent announcement that profits at the company have increased by 70 per cent – to €1.2 million in 2011. Turnover has also reportedly increased from €13 million in 2010 to €16 million in 2011, with a projected turnover for 2012 of €19 million.

Blue Insurances originally focused on travel insurance but has expanded into other areas such as pet and innovative gadget insurance – and plans to begin offering home and motor insurance by the end of this year.

The company says the planned expansion will require new staff across numerous departments including call centre customer services, sales, accounts, IT and junior management. This expansion announcement will see their staff numbers rise from 30 to 50 by late next year.

Joint Managing Director Ciaran Mulligan said: “Servicing our existing business while expanding into new markets means our business is continuing to grow rapidly and we will need to fill service level requirements.”
