1. #TRIBUTES: Taoiseach Enda Kenny has led tributes to Adrian Hardiman, the Supreme Court judge who died suddenly.

2. #NEW YORK: A man suspected of slashing a woman in the face, fatally stabbing a store owner and setting a homeless man on fire has been shot and wounded by police in New York City.

3. #GE16: Enda Kenny has acknowledged it’s unlikely anyone will be elected Taoiseach when the new Dáil sits for the first time this week. The Taoiseach faces having to tender his resignation on Thursday after the vote. He will remain on as head of a caretaker government until a new Taoiseach is voted in.

4. #TUNISIA: At least 28 jihadists, 10 members of the security forces and seven civilians were killed today in fighting in Tunisia near the Libyan border, the country’s government said.

5. #COURT: Speaking after the latest trial hearing for him and 17 others involved in the Jobstown protest November 2014, Anti-Austerity Alliance TD Paul Murphy has said the charges should be dropped.
