EACH WEEKDAY EVENING,TheJournal.ie brings you five things you should know before you head out the door.

1. #JOB LOSSES: There was bad news on the employment front with the announcement of 570 jobs to go at pharma company MSD in Dublin and a further 350 at risk as A|Wear enters receivership.

2. #MURDER: A murder inquiry has been launched into the death of 53-year-old Susan Dunne in Lixnaw, Co Kerry.

3. #ANIMAL CRUELTY: In what has been described as one of the the worst cases of animal cruelty the DSPCA has seen, a horse in Dublin was killed when it was doused in petrol and set on fire.

4. #CHILD RESCUE: Three children who were subject to a Child Rescue Alert this morning were found safe and well with their mother in Enniskillen.

5. #KNOBS AND KNOCKERS: People panicked a bit on Twitter today when a photo of someone taking down the sign at the well known Knobs and Knockers store in Dublin started to make the rounds. Don’t worry though, staff told DailyEdge.ie they were just doing a paint job.
