4. #SMITHWICK: Sinn Féin President Gerry Adams has defended remarks he made about two RUC officers killed by the IRA saying his views reflect what is recorded by the Smithwick Tribunal.

5. #LGBT: The Legion of Mary society in NUI Galway has been suspended over a campaign which looked to encourage people to “move beyond the confines of the homosexual label”.
