1. #RETIRED: It was announced that Pope Francis has accepted the resignation of Cardinal Seán Brady, who has reached retirement age under Cannon Law.

2. #CHARLEVILLE: The funeral mass of three brothers who died in Cork last week was held today with the local priest describing the nine-year-old twins as “loveable rogues”.

3. #LUTON: London’s Luton airport has been evacuated this afternoon because of a security alert with all incoming flights suspended.

4. #RUBBISH: Workers involved in the Greyhound strike have rejected settlement proposals and RTÉ reports that workers have now called for the Taoiseach to intervene.

5. #OH BABY: The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are expecting their second child and the Queen is said to be “delighted” – as is Sky News’ Kay Burley.
