1. #HSE: An investigation has been launched after a newborn baby died at Cavan General Hospital this morning. It is the second death of a baby at the hospital in the past month.

2. #ALLEGATIONS: A teenage boy with special needs was whipped by gardaí with a belt, an on-call doctor for garda stations has claimed at an Oireachtas committee.

3.#COURTS: The families of the Dublin and Monaghan bombing victims are to sue the British Government, forty years after the deadliest day of the Troubles which left 33 people dead.

4. #PINTS: A report from the World Health Organisation has found that Ireland has the second-highest rate of binge drinking in the world.

5. #PROTESTS: Irish Water contractors have removed some water meters from a Cork estate where protests have been taking place and told residents they will not return to the area for the foreseeable future.
