1. #ABORTION Tánaiste Joan Burton has said that the current abortion laws do not serve Irish women well, and reiterated her opposition to the eighth amendment. She also said that it must be “very hard” for the family of a pregnant woman who is being kept on life support against her parents’ wishes.

2. #GEORGE REDMOND Corruption findings against George Redmond, the former assistant Dublin City and Council manager, have been quashed. The Mahon Tribunal agreed to withdraw the findings.

3. #UNDER THE SPOTLIGHT The terms of reference for the probe into activities in Bailieboro Garda District have been published – and will include looking at allegations by whistleblower Sgt Maurice McCabe.

4. #EXPENSES A file was sent to the DPP over the expenses of former Donegal councillor Dessie Larkin. He claimed he was at two meetings at the one time.

5. #METRO HERALD Today was the last day of publication for the Metro Herald. We headed to meet the merchandisers on Dublin’s streets, and found that people are really going to miss them.
