1.#DISAPPEARED: A body has been found in a Meath bog in the search for Brendan Megraw. Megraw was “disappeared” by the IRA in 1978.

2.#FLUSHED: A loophole in the Irish Water legislation that would have let cabinet members off paying for water in their second homes will be closed. The Department of Finance said this afternoon the allowance would be removed.

3.#MISSING TEEN: A murder inquiry has been launched after police searching for missing teenager Alice Goss found a body in a London river. Police said that there had been “significant efforts to conceal the body”.

4.#MCNULTYGATE: The row over Fine Gael’s nominee for the Seanad by-election rumbled on today. The Taoiseach defended his party in the Dáil, but Fianna Fáil’s Micheal Martin said the story was “unravelling as it gets made up”.

5.#LIVE REGISTER: The unemployment rate has fallen again, but remains above 11%. Today’s figures show that unemployment is at 11.1%, down from 12.6% at the same time last year.
