1. Garth Brooks fans are disappointed today as two of his five scheduled Croke Park gigs have been cancelled.

2. Slane has ruled itself out, but Punchestown or Páirc Uí Chaoimh may be able to come to the rescue for the country and western lovers…

3. The economy grew – yes, grew – by 2.7% in the first three months of this year. That’s good news ahead of the October Budget, according to a number of commentators.

4. All five Unionist parties in Northern Ireland have walked out of peace talks because of a decision to block part of an Orange Order parade.

5. Enda Kenny was in Germany today. Amongst other things, he opened a Primark store and was greeted like a superstar by the local crowd.
