2. #UK More than 1,400 children were sexually exploited in the UK town of Rotherham between 1997 and 2013, a report out today says. The shocking report reveals that some children were abducted and beaten, and trafficked to other English cities, .

3. #BIG DEAL US fast food giant Burger King has snapped up Canada’s Tim Horton’s, in a ‘tax inversion’ deal that will see the new company headquartered in Canada but Burger King continuing to operate out of Miami.

4. #EMIGRATION Only 16% of emigrants were unemployed before they left Ireland, according to new CSO statistics. It says that there was a decline of 20% in people leaving the country between April 2013 and April 2014. Meanwhile, unemployment has fallen again, to 11.5%

5. #UH OH A 5.7 magnitude earthquake has hit Iceland’s largest volcano, Bardarbunga. It’s located under a glacier, and it is feared the quake could lead to another ash cloud across Europe, disrupting flights.
