1. #PANTIGATE A TD has tabled a bill which aims to remove the term “offence” from the Broadcasting Act. Stephen Donnelly introduced it in the wake of the Pantigate controversy, and said it is to stop “the litigious and thin-skinned”.

2. #UKRAINE The EU has offered the Ukraine €11 billion in aid. Meanwhile, Russia has said it has no authority over pro-Moscow forces that have taken de-facto control of the Crimean Peninsula. Barack Obama said Russia is “not fooling anybody” over its role in Ukraine.

3. #PENSIONS ROW The ESB Group of Unions has threatened the CEO and Chairman of the ESB with legal action over a pension scheme, sending a legal letter to management ahead of the firm’s presentation of its 2013 accounts to the board.

4. #RIP Two new ads featuring the late anti-smoking campaigner Gerry Collins have been released. They feature his thoughts on what he would miss about his life, and what he is grateful for. The HSE believes his ads have helped 60,000 people to attempt to quit smoking his year.

5. #MURDER TRIAL Oscar Pistorius asked a friend to take the blame after a pistol was accidentally fired in a restaurant, two weeks before he fatally shot his girlfriend, a witness testified today at his murder trial. Pistorius maintains he shot Reeva Steenkamp accidentally.
