6 frozen treats to make at home - whatever the weather's doing

Slurpees, ice-cream and ice-pops, oh my.

ALRIGHT, WE HAVEN’T had the best of summer, what with the weather warnings and all.

But that’s ok. Because no matter what the weather, we can make it feel like summer because – ice-cream. Yes.

Ice-cream, and its frosty friends like slushees and ice-pops, make everything better.

So we’ve rounded up six amazing recipes for ice-cream and other frozen treats that are easy to make and even easier to eat.

Sun or no sun.

1. Easy-peasy chocolate ice-cream

Real Simple Real Simple

This (almost literally, we think) couldn’t be easier. It’s got three ingredients, you don’t need any fancy machinery and it’s chocolate.

What more do you need?

Nothing. (Although, y’know, keep reading – we’ve got some good stuff coming up.)

2. Coke slushee

wikiHow wikiHow

Ah, coke slushees. So delicious. So icey. So easy to make.

Blend ice. Add coke.

Just in case that wasn’t detailed enough, here’s a how-to, but we think you’ll be ok.

3. Ice-pops

Real Simple Real Simple

Ice-pops are another seriously easy treat to make. You just need yourself a blender, some moulds and lollipop sticks.

There are all sorts of flavour variations, but we like the coconut-pineapple goodness of this one.

Enjoy.

4. Peanut butter ice-cream brownies

About About

Ok, this might be the most difficult of all our recipes, but look at it.

Just …look.

Here’s the recipe. Of course, you can buy ice-cream and brownies and assemble them in an easier version but… we think this one is worth the effort.

5. Ice-cream floats

Turkeyhill Turkeyhill

Now, was there any better treat when you were little than plopping a scoop of ice-cream into a glass of Coke and watching the ensuing coke-y ice-cream bubbles overflow the glass?

We think not.

Here’s to the inner child inside you. No recipe needed.

6. Ice-cream sundae

Now, you can go all fancy-pants with this and make your own ice-cream and sauce from scratch (maybe grow the nuts yourself too?) like this dedicated sundae-maker, or you can assemble an ice-cream sundae and not feel bad about that at all.

Either way, a couple flavours of ice-cream, some fudge or caramel sauce and a sprinkle of nuts will get you one tasty dessert in no time.
