1. #BREXIT The Taoiseach and Northern ministers will meet for the first time since Brexit at the plenary meeting of the North South Ministerial Council. The meeting will discuss the impact of the referendum for Northern Ireland, said Enda Kenny, and emphasise government support for preserving north-south cooperation.

2. #HOUSING Housing prices rose by 6.3% nationwide in the second quarter of this year, according to the latest Daft report. The average asking price in south county Dublin is €517,719.

3. #WINNERS A syndicate of drivers from Dublin Bus’s Broadstone Depot is said to have scooped the EuroMillions jackpot at the weekend. The news came after a management syndicate at the company won money in last Wednesday’s National Lottery. Lucky them.

4. #CONSOLE Health Minister Simon Harris is due to meet HSE officials over the Console controversy today. Interim CEO of Console, David Hall, has written to Harris to ask about the HSE funding Console’s services.

5. #IRAQ Three days of national mourning have been declared in Iraq after suicide attacks killed nearly 120 people.

6. #BUSINESS The UK’s Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne has vowed to cut corporation tax cut from 20% to 15% in the wake of Brexit. Osborne told the Financial Times he wanted to build a “super-competitive economy” with low tax rates.

7. #COURT A European court has been advised by an expert to find that a Trinity lecturer was discriminated against for being gay after he was told his partner was not entitled to a pension.

8. #SUGAR SUGAR Ireland might wait for the UK’s fizzy drinks tax before it brings in its own tax, Finance Minister Michael Noonan has said. That could mean a wait of over two years.

9. #LIMERICK A toddler is still in critical condition after falling from a hotel balcony in Limerick. Gardaí said that the boy is still in Temple Street Children’s Hospital following the fall.
