3. #WEATHER Grab those flip-flops – we’re set for some fantastic weather this week. Met Éireann says that temperatures will reach up to 26 degrees today, and we can expect some humidity tonight.

4. #UK Owen Smith is set to challenge Jeremy Corbyn for Labour leadership. Meanwhile, MPs are set to debate Britain’s nuclear defence today in the Commons.

5. #REPUBLICANS Donald Trump is expected to be formally declared the Republican nominee for president of the United States this week at the Republican convention in Ohio. His wife Melania Trump will speak at the convention tonight.

6. #CODING Education Minister Richard Bruton has asked a group to examine the teaching of coding in primary schools.

7. #TURKEY The EU says that Turkey must protect the rule of law in its country, as fresh raids were carried out in a crackdown after Friday’s attempted coup.

8. #LONGFORD An 18-year-old has died following a crash with a tractor at 11.50pm last night. The driver of the tractor was uninjured.

9. #MINIMUM WAGE The Small Firms Association has said that increasing the national minimum wage would threaten small businesses in the wake of the Brexit referendum.
