1. #THE DISAPPEARED: The remains discovered in Co Meath yesterday are likely not those of Joe Lynskey, whose resting place the search was in fact looking for. The bodies are most likely those of other Disappeared victims Seamus Wright and Kevin McKee.

2. #BERKELEY: The District Attorney for Alameda County, California,  Nancy O’Malley has said that the investigation into last week’s tragic balcony collapse will be a criminal one.

3. #GREECE: Talks regarding the country’s debts will continue today with no sign of an end to the deadlock in sight. Meanwhile, it seems that the first time Greece defaulted on its debts was more than 2,000 years ago.

4. #PATRICK MACNEE: The star of 1960s cult tv show The Avengers, in which he played character John Steed, has died aged 93.

5. #FRANCE: The trial has begun of Dominique Cottrez (51), who is accused of murdering eight of her children. Cottrez has previously said she feared the children were born of incest with her father.

6. #JOBSTOWN: Senator Katherine Zappone has said that the Jobstown incident last November, when herself and Joan Burton were targeted for abuse, was one of the most traumatic things she’s ever experienced.

7. #PAT FINUCANE: A Belfast court will today rule on whether or not an inquiry into the solicitor’s 1989 murder should take place.

8. #HIRING WOMENIrish Rail are seeking to address a massive shortfall in the number of women applying to become apprentices.

9. #B***HY COMMENTS: The Broadcasting Authority of Ireland has ruled that the use of the phrase “jealous little bitch” by 4FM DJ Niall Boylan did not breach broadcasting regulations.
