1. #STRIKE: The garda strike looks set to go ahead on Friday after the GRA, which represents rank-and-file members, rejected a new pay deal.

2. #OBERSTOWN: Riot police were dispatched to the Oberstown detention centre in north Dublin last night after two teenage boys escaped from the facility and climbed a roof. Gardaí said the incident happened at 10.30pm yesterday. Dublin Fire Brigade was also called out to deal with the incident.

3.HALLOWEEN: Emergency services around the country have responded to hundreds of callouts to deal with the Halloween festivities since last evening. Dublin Fire Brigade said this morning it had responded to 872 calls.

4. TRUMP: New revelations from the New York Times claim Donald Trump used “legally dubious methods” to avoid paying taxes. Separately, CNN has parted company with high-profile Democrat analyst Donna Brazile after hacked emails showed that she shared debate questions with Hillary Clinton’s campaign.

5. MISSING: Gardaí in Cork are looking for 45-year-old woman Mandy Bermingham who has been missing since Saturday afternoon.

6.#ULSTER BANK: The bank has been handed a €3.3 million fine by the Central Bank for anti-money laundering and terrorist financing failures.

7. #PARIS:  French police have cleared a makeshift migrant camp in Paris, according to The Guardian. The rough sleepers were staying in a shanty town in the north of the city.

8. #BATTLE FOR MOSUL: The prime minister of Iraq has urged Islamic State fighters in Mosul to surrender, according to the BBC. “They have no choice. Either they surrender or they die,” Haider al-Abadi said in a TV address.

9. #THE OUTLOOK: It will be cool, breezy and mostly dry today with good sunny periods in most parts of the country, Met Éireann says. Top temperatures are expected to be between 9 and 12 degrees.
