3. #ON THE DOLE: Some 120 members of the army and navy will be out of work next year because of an arrangement that means they can only work in the Defence Forces for 21 years.
4. #REHAB: Public Accounts Committee Chairman John McGuinness will call a special meeting this week to discuss the €2.5 million paid to Frank Flannery’s brother-in-law for consultancy work, the Irish Times reports.
5. #GARDAÍ: The AGSI will debate a motion at its conference calling for a revision of the confidential charter to allow greater protection for garda whistleblowers.
6. #RECOVERY: Business confidence, expectations and current employment levels have all dropped in a new survey which highlights ‘worrying’ signs in the the manufacturing sector in particular.
7. #ANGLO: The jury will resume deliberations on the Anglo trial, having been out for just under an hour on Friday before being sent home for the weekend.
8. #UTAH: A woman in the US has been arrested after the bodies of seven infants were found at her former home.
9. #UKRAINE: There was tension between Russian and Ukrainian ambassadors at a special UN Security meeting last night and Tánaiste Eamon Gilmore will be in Luxembourg for an EU meeting on the crisis today.
