5. #FREEZE Leo Varadkar wants health insurers to freeze their prices in return for a Government commitment not increase some taxes on the industry, according to this morning’s Irish Times. The proposal is set to be discussed by Cabinet in the next few weeks.

6. #IT COULD HAPPEN Sterling has fallen sharply in the wake of yesterday’s shock poll that showed the ‘yes’ side ahead in the Scottish independence referendum campaign, The Guardian reports.

7. #SHOOTING Detectives investigating the shooting of an Irish criminal in Spain at the weekend are examining whether a female associate of another known criminal ordered his murder, according to the Irish Independent. 

8. #LOOKING UP We should bring in tax cuts worth €400 in the Budget, according to business group IBEC. The lobby group has published an upbeat Consumer Monitor this morning.
