1. #POWER CUT: Up to 7,000 households and businesses in south Dublin are still without electricity this morning after a fire at an ESB station, RTÉ reports.

2. #SHOWDOWN: The UK Labour leadership election result will be announced later today, with left-wing candidate Jeremy Corbyn still the favourite to win.

3. #STORMONT CRISIS: The Irish Times reports that the DUP plans to prevent Sinn Féin and the SDLP from taking control of positions vacated by ministers who resigned earlier this week.

4. #SLAVE LABOUR: Six teenagers have been taken into protective custody in a garda investigation into human trafficking in Donegal and Monaghan, according to the Irish Independent.

5. #ASSISTED SUICIDE: California has approved a bill that will allow terminally ill patients to legally end their lives.

6. #ABORTION PILLS: The Irish Examiner reports that over 1,000 illegal abortion pills were confiscated by Irish authorities last year – twice the number seized in the previous year.

7. #NO REMORSE: The father of Anthony Lyons’ victim has told the Irish Mirror that he never showed any remorse for his crime. Lyons was released from prison yesterday after serving a 13-month term for sexual assault.

8. #SUSPENDED: France has suspended its honorary consul in Turkey for selling rubber boats and life jackets to asylum seekers hoping to reach Greece, according to the BBC.

9. #BACKLASH: Online donations to the Anti-Austerity Alliance have increased sharply since the party was banned from fundraising door-to-door in Dublin South-West. It emerged yesterday that Paul Murphy TD is among 27 people due to be charged with the false imprisonment of Tánaiste Joan Burton at a protest last year.
