EVERY MORNING, TheJournal.ie brings you the nine stories you need to know as you kick off your day.

1. #INVESTIGATION: A Catholic priest in Cavan has voluntarily taken leave from his position after a complaint was made about alleged child abuse, the Bishop of Kilmore has confirmed.

2. #PROPERTY TAX: The head of the Revenue Commissioners will be questioned by the powerful Oireachtas finance committee about property tax concerns from the public after confusion arose over when and how the charge has to be paid.

3. #TAKE YOUR SEATS: Ryanair has warned that its profits may fall this year for the first time in five years. The company announced today that it is to introduce free allocated seating on its flights as part of a wide-ranging overhaul of its practices.

4. #EGYPT: Egypt is on high alert this morning as ousted president Mohammed Morsi appears in court in Cairo charged with inciting the killing of protesters. Morsi’s supporters have accused the army-installed government of fabricating the charges and have called for protests against the military.

5. #MURDER: The search for more body parts belonging to convicted drug dealer Christopher Gaffneyin Clonee in Meath has ended. Gardaí have begun a murder inquiry into the death of the 37-year-old from Blanchardstown in Dublin and have appealed for information.

6. #TORTURE: Doctors and nurses working in US military prisons were complicit in the abuse of terrorism suspects, an independent US report has said. The CIA and the Pentagon have rejected the report’s findings, the BBC says.

7. #ROADS: Two pedestrians have died in separate road traffic accidents in Meath and Galway in the past 24 hours.

8. #SAME-SEX MARRIAGE: The Government should hold a referendum on same-sex marriage on the same date as the local and European elections next May – at least, according to two Labour MEPS.

9. #THAT’S ALL FOLKS: The makers of The Simpsons changed the show’s iconic intro sequence in last night’s episode to pay tribute to Marcia Wallace, the voice of Bart’s teacher Mrs Krabappel, who died on 25 October. There’s… something in our eye.
