Poll: Should we continue to allow air displays over land?

Britain’s aviation authority has announced new rules banning vintage jets from high-energy stunts. Do we need new measures here?

THE MOTHER OF one of the victims of the Shoreham airshow disaster has called for strict new restrictions on air displays, saying they should only be allowed take place over the sea.

It comes as Britain’s Civil Aviation Authority announces new rules banning vintage jets from high-energy stunts, and temporarily grounding all Hawker Hunter jets.

The Irish Aviation Authority has said the air accident report carried out in Shoreham will be reviewed here and “acted upon as appropriate”. The Authority is also highlighting the strict rules that already govern air shows here.

This evening we’re asking – do you agree with the ‘not over land’ suggestion?
