In all seriousness it is probably more urgent to locate him if they are issuing an appeal this quick as they probably know something to indicate the immediate danger. Hope he is found.

I think everyone’s missing the point here & should calm down & stop jumping down people’s necks. The man is missing. If all reports came out of all missing persons this early, maybe a lot more people would have been found earlier & a lot of grief & heartache would be avoided. The first poster just asked a simple question that they didn’t know the answer to, granted a little insensitive. He’s gotten his answer so, in my opinion, the bashing should stop. I really hope this man is found. There’s FAR too many reports of missing people & not enough happy endings to these stories.

When someone you love is missing a day is a long time. Why should it matter how long someones missing if highlighting it early could possibly lead to a positive sighting or getting them back safe?

There should be more of these reported early, even if he shows up in the morning.

The reason why it would be reported so early is because he must be a category 1 risk and also because someone else has said they had a serious concern for his welfare for one reason of other. When someone is reported missing to the Gaurd’s they decide what category or risk the person is and if it’s decided they are a category 1 risk they release it to the media asap.

And people need to relax a bit, calling people sick & nasty for simply asking a question is a bit ridiculous, there was clearly no malice in the previous comments made.

Maybe a bit of respect and keep opinions to yourselfs on missing persons that have worried family’s, it’s not witty folks

I think those suggesting the time frame they vaguely believe to be the one for a person to be classed as missing would do well to watch fewer crime dramas on television and use a bit more logic…

I really don’t mean to be insensitive and I am not trying to offend.
I was thinking that he doesn’t seem to be missing that long to warrant a mention in the national media, unless he was sick or has some disability.

I’m delighted to her David was found, does anyone notice the amount of people missing has risen. Is this a sad fact of the recession that more people are taking their own lives or is there something else?.

To those who think that the story doesn’t warrant mentioning , you are very sad and sick people. If anything can help find this person let’s try. I pray that similar faith is not bestowed on you or your loved ones. My thoughts are with the family of this man, and may he be found safe and well, very soon.
