Two masked men rob cash-in-transit van in north Dublin

One man was wearing a scarf covering his face and was armed with what appeared to be a gun.

GARDAÍ ARE AT the scene where a cash-in-transit robbery occurred at Bayside Shopping Centre, north Dublin.

The incident occurred at around 11.50am today.

Security staff were approached by two men: one wearing a balaclava, the other with a scarf covering his face and armed with what appeared to be a gun.

They threatened staff and escaped with a cash box in a black Opel Vectra that headed towards the Bayside Dart station.

The car was abandoned and the suspects fled on foot. No injuries were reported.

The Garda Press Office say it’s still unknown what sum of money was taken. Investigations are ongoing.
