Man arrested after €234k of drugs seized at service station

The seizure was made at 9am this morning following an intelligence-led operation.

A MAN HAS been arrested after gardaí seized €234k at a service station today.

Gardaí said that following an intelligence led operation, members of the Garda National Drugs Unit seized 39 kilos of cannabis resin with an estimated street value of €234,000 and arrested a male in his early 40s.

The incident occured at a service station on the M1 Southbound between junctions 5 and 4 this morning at approximately 9am.

The man is currently detained at Balbriggan Garda Station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.
