Man arrested for firing shots at Dublin house

There were two people in the house at the time but no one was injured.

A 28-YEAR-old man has been arrested for firing a gun at a house on Beaver Street in Dublin.

Gardaí were called when a lone male was seen discharging a firearm at a house on the street at around 10.30pm last night. There were two people in the house at the time but no one was injured in the incident.

The man then left the scene on a bicycle and was arrested a short time later after a patrolling garda unit spotted him on Sean McDermot Street.

He was brought to Store Street Garda Station where he is now being held. A firearm was found in a follow-up search near where the arrest was made.

Gardaí said the scene at Beaver Street is currently preserved for a technical examination and the investigation is ongoing.

This morning, they appealed for witnesses to this firearms incident to contact Store Street Garda Station on 01 6668000, The Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
