25-year-old arrested after man and woman shot in Limerick

The man and woman sustained non life-threatening injuries.

A 25-YEAR-OLD has been arrested in Limerick over a shooting incident outside a house yesterday afternoon.

A man and woman, both in their 30s, were injured when a lone gunman approached them and fired shots in the Castleview housing estate in Newcastle West. Both were taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

The gunman fled the scene in a car believed to have been driven by another man.

Today, however, gardaí said they had made an arrest in the early hours of this morning connection with the investigation. The 25-year-old is currently detained at Newcastle West Garda Station.
