Man in court for charges of indecent assault at Westmeath school

The charges relate to incidents at St Mary’s CBS in Mullingar almost 30 years ago.

A MAN IN his 60s is to appear in court this morning, accused of a number of indecent assaults at a Westmeath school during the 1980s.

The charges relate to incidents that occurred during 1984 and 1985 at St Mary’s CBS in Mullingar.

The suspect was arrested yesterday evening and will appear before Mullingar District Court at 10.30am, charged in connection with the investigation.

There was nobody from the school’s board available to comment on the arrest this morning.
