Gardaí appeal for witnesses in assault of woman on her way to work

Gardaí are interested in speaking with the people who helped the woman after the attack.

A RENEWED APPEAL for witnesses has been issued by gardaí who are investigating the assault of a woman in her 30s which occurred last Sunday.

The attacked happened on the R132 close to the Seatown Road and the Seatown Roundabout, which is known locally as the ‘Woodies roundabout’. The incident occurred at about 6.45am.

The woman, who was walking to work, was assaulted by a man wearing a grey hoodie. She received minor injuries during the incident, but managed to get away from her attacker and was helped by a passing cyclist.

Gardaí in Swords are again appealing for witnesses, they are particularly interested in speaking to a number of people who stopped and assisted the female after she was assaulted.

It is believed two taxi men assisted, one man in a red/maroon four-door-saloon-type car and the second taxi man had a fare on board. Two men also assisted who were in a recovery type vehicle with flashing red lights on the back.
