FOUR MAJOR CITIES announced last week that they would moved to stop the use of all diesel vehicles by the middle of the next decade.
The BBC reported on Friday that the mayors of Paris, Mexico City, Madrid and Athens all said they would implement a ban to improve air quality.
The commitments were made at a biennial meeting of city leaders in Mexico last week.
The use of diesel as a fuel has come under scrutiny in recent years for the levels of pollution that it causes.
The World Health Organization (WHO) says that around three million deaths every year are linked to exposure to outdoor air pollution.
There have also been calls to phase out the use of the vehicles in places like London.
So, what about here: Should diesel vehicles be phased out in Ireland?
