60-year old arrested for drug trafficking after Dublin drugs seizure

The man is due before Cloverhill District Court tomorrow morning.

LAST FRIDAY, GARDAÍ seized 12kgs of cannabis with an estimated street value of €240,000 in Balbriggan, Co Dublin.

The search was carried out as part of an intelligence-led joint operation between Revenue officers and the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau.

During the course of the operation, a 60-year-old man was arrested for Drug Trafficking Offences and detained at Swords Garda Station, under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1996.

The man has now been charged with drug trafficking offences and subsequently appeared before Dublin District Court.

He was remanded in custody and is due to appear before Cloverhill District Court tomorrow morning at 10.30.
