Police say 'nothing untoward' about object after Titanic security alert

The alert had been raised about a suspicious object that had been found.

POLICE IN BELFAST have said there was “nothing untoward” about an object that sparked a security alert outside the Titanic Building.

Earlier, PSNI officers were called to the area because a “suspicious object” was found next to the building, which is used as a concert venue and as a museum dedicated to the city’s involvement with the Titanic.

This afternoon, the PSNI issued an update to say army technical officers had examined the item and declared it safe.

All roads are reopened to traffic.
