Crisp and clear: Benbulben looked stunning in the early morning fog today

WE’VE BEEN ENDURING some pretty cold nights this week — while the incredibly foggy conditions are also set to persist around much of the country overnight tonight. 

Fortunately for amateur photographers — all this low-lying cloud has led to some startlingly beautiful scenes.

Readers have been busy sending us their photos, ever since the start of this latest misty spell. 

We felt the snap below deserved a post all of its own, however.

Ian Ryan captured this gorgeous photo of Sligo’s Benbulben rising above the mist this morning. The mercury was registering around minus two degrees, he tells us…
