Benedict Cumberbatch wants people to stop filming Hamlet because it's 'mortifying'

BENEDICT CUMBERBATCH HAS pleaded with fans to stop filming him while he performs Hamlet at the Barbican in London.

The Sherlock actor asked fans outside the theatre to help him spread the message.

“Can I ask you all a huge favour?

“I don’t use social media and I’d really appreciate it if you did tweet, blog, hashtag the s**t out of this one for me.”

Cumberbatch said it was “blindingly obvious” that people are using cameras and phones to record his performance.

It’s mortifying and there’s nothing less supportive or enjoyable as an actor being on stage experiencing that.

As of tomorrow, people caught using phones to record the production will be kicked out. Cumberbatch said he didn’t want it to come to this.
