Let’s have a gawk around.

FOR A GIANT mansion in Beverly Hills up for sale for $115 million, you’d expect to get a good back story for your buck – and, well, this one doesn’t disappoint.

William Randolph Hearst, the newspaper publisher who inspired Citizen Kane, lived in the house from 1946 until his death, while JFK and Jackie Kenendy stayed there during their honeymoon. The house featured in both The Godfather and The Bodyguard and was used as a feature location for many other films and television programmes.

The specs: It’s situated on top of a private knoll (?) near Sunset Boulevard and is a mixture of Spanish and Italian styles – or at least, someone’s impression of what this would look like in 1940s California when the house was built. It’s got a billiard room, a library, an art-deco wine cellar which apparently doubles as a nightclub and its own waterfall.

Let’s have a look around.
