Items from Bill Cullen Motor Group premises go up for auction

The auction came over a month after the businessman lost control of Glencullen Holdings Ltd, which operated his last two Renault dealerships.

EVERYTHING BUT THE penny apples were for sale at an auction by Wilson’s Auctions in Dublin of items from two premises from the Bill Cullen Motor Group.

The auction took place at the former premises of the Bill Cullen Motor Group at Liffey Valley Motor Mall in Dublin 22 and came a month after the businessman lost control of Glencullen Holdings Ltd, which operated his last two Renault dealerships in Airside and Liffey Valley in Dublin.

Ulster Bank had earlier appointed Kavanagh Fennell as receivers to the company, and was estimated to be owed €12 million.

Cullen described it as a “sad occasion” when the receivers were put in place. Earlier this year, 20 jobs were lost when Cullen closed his two other Renault dealerships in Ennis and Galway.

Wilson’s Auctions were instructed to sell by unreserved public auction the remaining garage equipment and 90 vehicles from Citygate Motors Airside Limited and Citygate Motors Liffey Valley Limited, which were part of the Bill Cullen Motor Group.
