Death of man in his 40s in Ennis being treated as suspicious

The man’s death is being treated as suspicious.

A GARDA INVESTIGATION is under way after the body of a man in his 40s was found in Ennis in Co Clare this morning.

The discovery was made in the Turnpike area of the town at around 10am. It’s understood that his death is being treated as suspicious.

Local gardaí are appealing for information about the death.

In particular they’re looking to speak to anyone who was in the area of Turnpike Road in Ennis in the 12 hours between 10pm last night and 10 this morning.

The man’s body remains at the scene, according to a statement from gardaí.

The scene has been preserved and the Office of the State Pathologist has been notified.
