Body found in apartment block in Clonmel

Gardaí say they are now treating the discovery of the body as suspicious and have opened an investigation.

Update 12.02pm

GARDAÍ IN TIPPERARY have opened an investigation into the discovery of a man’s body in Clonmel this morning.

The body of the man in his 40s was found at 6.45am this morning in the lobby of an apartment block at New Quay in Clonmel.

The body remains at the scene pending an examination by a forensics team and the services of the State Pathologist have been requested.

Another scene, which Gardaí believe is related to the death, is being preserved at an apartment on Abbey Street near where the body was found.
