GARDAÍ HAVE ARRESTED a man in his early 20s in connection with the discovery of the body of a women which was found at a house in Castlebar, Co Mayo early this morning.
The man was arrested at 8am this morning at Corha, Islandeady in Castlebar, Co Mayo and is being detained at the local Garda station under section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
Gardaí are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the discovery of a 46-year-old woman at a house in Derrycrieve, Islandeady in Castlebar at around 1.40am this morning.
Earlier Gardaí said that the body remains at the scene pending an examination by the Garda technical team and the state pathologist’s office which had been notified.
