FOUR HOMEMADE EXPLOSIVE devices have been made safe after they were found in a derelict house in a residential area in Dundalk this afternoon.
An Army bomb disposal team was called to the scene by Gardaí who had cordoned off the area in Haggardstown when the devices were found.
Local residents were evacuated to a safe location while the devices were examined.
The Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) were made safe at the scene by the bomb disposal team without the need for a controlled explosion.
The scene was declared safe at around 6.15pm. The remnants of the IEDs are to be handed over to Gardaí to assist with their investigation into the incident.
