The man is lucky to be alive but it doesn’t take away from the fact that he is a Class A idiot to leave his gun unattended and not locked away , just proves yet again that guns are not stupid but people really are.

And that’s why guns should be stored under lock and key, preferably in a gun safe, unloaded, separately from ammunition, with a trigger lock.
I know there is little political will in America to introduce gun control but at a very minimum they need to introduce a licencing system that verifies that the person has a good knowledge of basic firearm safety and a clean criminal record and be required to produce evidence to a gun dealer that have the facility to safely store the weapon they are attempting to buying.

Not so ridiculous. DA’s and their deputies are elected, so a good conviction record is necessary. I’m sure that if there was the tiniest suspicion that it wasn’t accidental there would be a relentless investigation.

Somewhere in that great country is an ADA trying to work out a way of charging the kid. I hate to admit it ,that this statement is a bit ridiculous, Yet I feel that somewhere……
