Boy (12) hit by brick thrown through his bedroom window

A number of windows in the house were damaged during the incident.

A 12-YEAR-old boy was asleep in bed last night when a brick was thrown through his window, hitting him in the face.

Police in Ballymena are now appealing for information following the incident, which occurred in the Kilmakevit Square area of Cullybackey shortly before 1.30am today.

They said that it was reported that the 12-year-old boy was asleep in bed when a brick was thrown through his bedroom window.

He was hit in the face by the brick and suffered swelling above his eye, as well as being left badly shaken by his ordeal.

The boy’s mother, who was also in the house at the time, was not injured. A number of other windows in the house were also smashed during the incident.

Police say a motive for the attack on the house has yet to be established.

The PSNI is appealing to anyone who witnessed this incident or who saw anyone in the area of Kilmakevit Square in the early hours of this morning to contact them at Ballymena Police Station on 0845 600 8000.

Alternatively, information can be given anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
