Man (20s) arrested in connection with early morning assault in Bray that left victim critically injured

A MAN IN his mid-20s has been arrested in connection with a serious assault in Bray, Co Wicklow, in the early hours of this morning.

The arrested man is currently being held at Bray Garda Station.

The victim, a man aged in his late 20s, was discovered seriously injured at James Everett Park in the town at approximately 1.45am this morning.

The injured man received medical assistance at the scene before being transported to Saint Vincent’s Hospital on Dublin’s south side. From there he was subsequently taken to Beaumont Hospital where his condition is described as critical.

The scene has been preserved for technical examination. A Garda investigation is ongoing.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information, particularly those who were in Bray Town Centre or the Little Bray, Fassaroe or James Everett Park areas between 1am and 2am this morning to contact them at Bray Garda station on 01 6665300, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666111, or at any Garda station.
