Woman in Bray 'died in violent circumstances'

Gardaí are now treating the 50-year-old’s death as murder following preliminary post-mortem results.

GARDAÍ HAVE SAID they are treating the death of a 50-year-old woman in Bray, Co Wicklow, as murder, following preliminary results of a post-mortem.

A 21-year-old man was arrested at 11am this morning after the woman’s body was discovered at a house on Southern Cross Road overnight.

This evening, gardaí said they are now investigating the incident as a murder.

Premilinary post-mortem results have been furnished to the investigating team. Gardaí said they would not be publishing details for operational reasons.

However investigating gardaí confirmed that the woman “died in violent circumstances”.

A technical and forensic examination of the scene is ongoing and investigating gardaí are continuing to detain the 21-year-old who was arrested this morning.
