BRIAN COWEN WAS robust and, at times, argumentative in front of the banking inquiry today.
Almost immediately after his opening statement, the former taoiseach was at loggerheads with committee member Kieran O’Donnell who was the first lead questioner.
The Fine Gael TD tried to quiz Cowen repeatedly on the impact of Fianna Fáil’s spending during the boom, but the ex-Laois-Offaly TD felt he was being interrupted and not allowed to answer.
