THEY’VE PIONEERED the ‘chicken fry’. They’ve made ‘black’ burgers. And now, Burger King is heading in an entirely new direction – wine.
A wine that has the distinct taste of the fiery grill that makes their Whopper burger, of course.
A red wine – named Whopper Wine, duh – has been launched for a limited time in Spain to celebrate the burger chain’s 40 years in the country.
The company says the wine was aged in ‘flame-grilled wooden barrels’ to give it a ‘charred’ flavour (erk) that goes well with their signature Whopper burger.
Burned wine. Mmm.
According to Metro, the wine is a nod to Burger King’s history in Spain – back in 1975, when the chain first opened there, wine was added to the menu to entice the locals.
We’re not too enticed by this burned wine. Stick to the burgers, guys.
