Burglar armed with knife arrested after stand-off with gardaí

Gardaí said no one was injured in the incident and the residents of the flat were not home at the time.

A 29-YEAR-old has been arrested in connection with an aggravated burglary in Dublin.

At 11pm last night gardaí were called to a burglary in progress at a flat on North Great George’s Street. When they arrived they found a man armed with a knife inside the flat.

After a brief stand-off with him, he was disarmed and arrested. Gardaí said no one was injured in the incident and the residents of the flat were not at home at the time.

The 29-year-old was taken to Store Street Garda Station where he is currently being held.
