Anyone who’s unsure about Creighton should check out her recently settled court case recently where she was found guilty of defamation. She is an utterly inept politician and a nasty, vindictive person.

If anyone actually bothered to read the speech that landed her in court it was in relation to standards in office and how Fine Gael shouldn’t seek the donations of developers like Fianna Fáil did. What she said was spot on.

So Neil you don’t agree with Creighton that political parties should be very wary of their associations with builders and developers. I must admit that I agreed with the thrust of her argument. The cosy relationships between politicians and developers has a lot to answer for for the current state of the country.

Agreed with David for once. On the content of her speech anyway. Can’t help thinking she was a bit off message and idealistic about the standards in office tho.

Party trolls like Garry (Enda) seem to think votes come free. They forget they won the last GE with the default votes left from FF ruining the country, they seem to think they will remain in gov next time but forget that’s its people like you and I that voted them in. They like to believe their own spin that they hold 30+% of the electorate but continue to ignore angry public sentiment due to failed promises. They like to bury their heads in the sand and brand everyone who disagrees or critiques the gov as a shinner. They are deluded. That is a vile comment. Many women on the political left use their own name, as many people consider taking their husband’s name to be innately conservative and almost like becoming his property. Joan Burton, Roisin Shortall, Joanna Tuffy etc all use their own names.

As for the job she got. Are the wives of politicians not allowed to apply for roles they are qualified for? She has been head of Dun Laoighaire VEC for many years and is perfectly suited to the role into which she has been employed.

From your comments, I can only assume that you believe politicians should only have relationships with people with no ability, talent or ambition, otherwise what would the point be, as someone working in the education field would be barred from promotion, because their partner happens to be a leading politician.
