Cabra mother's death "most probably a personal tragedy"

No foul play suspected in the case of a mother found with her throat slit in a house off Blackhorse Avenue.

THE DEATH OF a mother-of-three in north Dublin is likely to have been a personal tragedy.

47-year-old Linda Brett was found with her throat cut at her home in McKee Park, off Blackhorse Avenue in Cabra, Co. Dublin on Wednesday morning.

A Garda spokesperson told TheJournal.ie this morning that while an investigation is ongoing, her death was “most probably a personal tragedy”.

The Irish Sun reports today that Gardaí had been assisted in their inquiries by the woman’s husband, a former army chef. It’s also reported that Gardaí say that no foul play is suspected in relation to her death.

The couple’s 13-year-old daughter has been treated for shock at Temple Street Hospital, while The Sun reports that this is the second tragic death in the family. Their 22-year-old son Stephen took his own life in 2007.
