Can you supply cheaper ink for our TDs? Leinster House wants to know

A tendering process to supply ‘print consumables’ to Leinster House closes at noon today. Get your bids in now!

IF YOU CAN supply ink to our TDs for cheaper than they’re already getting it, Leinster House wants to know about it.

As luck would have it, yesterday’s revelation that Aengus Ó Snodaigh had used over €50,000 worth of toner – supplied free of charge by the Oireachtas – in just two years has coincided with the closing date for a tender issued by the Oireachtas authorities.

They’re looking for a supplier for ‘print consumables’ for the Oireachtas print facility – though we understand that this refers to the printing presses operated by the Oireachtas, and not ink for the printers supplied to TDs and Senators.

If you’re interested in supplying some cut-price ink, you’ve got around two hours to get your paperwork in order.

The winning bidder will be the sole supplier of ink to the Oireachtas press for two years, with the option of extending the contract for two further one-year terms.

More details can be found on the government e-tenders website.
