PICS: Cannabis factory uncovered in Ballynahinch

The PSNI says the plants seized were worth in excess of £180,000/€212,115.

A CANNABIS FACTORY has been uncovered by police in Ballynahinch.

The PSNI has released photographs of the factory, which was uncovered by detectives from Downpatrick CID and officers from the C District Crime Team.

They found the cannabis factory following the search of a property in the Drumkeeragh Road area of Ballynahinch yesterday.

Cannabis plants estimated to be worth in excess of £180,000/€212,115 were recovered.

Anyone with information in relation to this incident is asked to contact detectives in Downpatrick on 0845 600 8000 or contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.

The PSNI noted that they would also remind members of the public who own or rent property to check their premises regularly and contact police if they become aware of any suspicious or untoward activity.
